HS Student of the Month: Ella Kinkelaar Ella Kinkelaar, the daughter of Jeremy and Kelly Kinkelaar, was selected as the April High School Student of the Month. Ella is a senior. Her teachers nominated her because of her kindness, good attitude and willingness to always put in the extra work. She has participated in a variety of activities: volleyball, basketball, softball, Rapid Fire Club Volleyball, LEO Club President, Pep Club President, NHS Secretary, FCA Leader, Yearbook Staff, WYSE Club, Language Club, Business Club, FFA, and LYF. She has been a year round athlete, active club member and high honor roll student. Her favorite subject this year has been yearbook. She has enjoyed getting to take pictures and designing fun pages. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, swimming, shopping, art, pickleball, spending time outdoors and working out. Her future plans are to attend Lincoln Land College on a volleyball scholarship and take classes in the health care field. Then, transfer to a four year university to continue her athletic and academic career. Now to share some fun facts. If Ella ever won the lottery she would donate some to charities and research groups, travel the world, buy a beach house in Florida, and put in a sports complex in her backyard. If a genie were able to grant her one wish, she would wish for every person to live a long, happy and healthy life. If she had one super power, she would want to have an indestructible body and mind. Then, she would always stay healthy and never have to experience pain. Her favorite experience in school has been all of the homecoming and prom dances and also her team's volleyball post season success.

JH Student of the Month: Zachary Probst Zachary Probst, the son of Jesse and Theresa Probst, was selected as the April Junior High Student of the Month. Zachary is in the 6th grade. His teachers nominated him because he has a positive attitude, is friendly to all and is a leader in the classroom. Zachary enjoys basketball and played on the school's 6th grade team this past school year. His favorite subject is math. It comes easy to him and he knows that it will help him in the future. In his free time he enjoys practicing basketball and playing with his sisters. In the future he hopes to attend an electrician college. Then he hopes to work for a company as an electrician. Now to move on to some facts. If he ever won the lottery he would want to buy a really nice car, a nice house and then save the rest. If a genie was able to grant him one wish, he would wish to be the new Michael Jordan. If he had one super power he would want super strength. He then could win every boxing match and be rich. So far his favorite experience in school has been winning the Stew-Stras basketball tournament this year.

We hosted our High School Academic Awards Night Wednesday, May 8th at 7 p.m. We had several students in the 9th-12th grade recognized for their accomplishments. We are proud of and would like to congratulate all of our students and especially our seniors. This year we also recognized Cyrus Calhoun who will be serving in the Army and Henry Vonderheide who will be attending West Point Military Academy. Both boys leave this summer to start their journeys serving our country. Strasburg American Legion Auxiliary, Mrs. Sarah Wyckoff presented the students with red, white and blue cords that will be worn at graduation. The Stewardson-Strasburg School District would like to thank all of those who contributed money to our scholarship fund. Without your generosity we would not be able to recognize our outstanding students!
